The author is a physicist, and didn't get into the biology of the origin of life to any great extent. I was also looking for a convincing and succinct summary of his arguments that the Earth is possibly unique in ou galaxy - or even the universe - but didn't seem to| |"David Waltham takes us on a delightful tour of the various factors that influence planetary habitability and the evolution of advanced life. That he thinks the prospects for it are unlikely is all the more reason for us to go up to space and take a good look!
